3/8/2010: A post on the Amiga & Phoenix Community website forums (a1k.org) started by evillord68 discusses a 060 cpu upgrade for the GB A1000. Visit forums for more information.
11/25/2009: The GB A1000 is the focus of a hardware article entitled "GB A1000 - Be Part of the Saga" in the November/December 2009 issue of the Amiga Future Magazine. If you are interested in the magazine, visit their website at www.amigafuture.de.
7/20/2009: Illuwatar's page shows progress, with the addition of a custom-designed power supply. See Illuwatar's project page.
10/8/2008: The GB A1000 bare boards from the first group purchase have been shipped to most folks (those who paid shipping in full). The parts list has started to show activity from members who have already begun hunting down parts.
9/30/2008: Some members have already received their bare boards! Thank you Kristian for organizing the group purchase and taking care of shipments. Everyone is very excited. The PCBs look terrific!
9/27/2008: Today, the bare boards have been shipped to individual members who participated in the first group purchase.
8/29/2008: A few pictures of the first partial shipment of new GB A1000 boards: Box, Label, PCBs. Photos sent in by Kristian.
8/28/2008: Kristian informs the group that a partial shipment of PCBs has arrived.
8/13/2008: Kristian informs the group that the GB A1000 boards are in production. He estimates receiving them somewhere around August 27th. It's time to prepare our workstations!
8/11/2008: Ratte shares a photo of a new DRAM expansion board for the GB A1000 mainboard on Amiga.org. More information available on Georg's Homepage.
7/11/2008: Georg made a small troubleshooting board that fits the computer's front slot. Some builders are talking about having a few of these built and shared among the group for troubleshooting purposes. This would be a great asset in building the GB A1000. Looking forward to it.
7/4/2008: Now that the board order has been placed, there is much discussion surrounding a group order of parts.
7/2/2008: Kristian informs the group on Amiga.org that he has ordered the boards! 53 members have placed an order, for a total of 59 boards.
6/30/2008: 52 individuals have now placed a pre-order for the bare motherboard, for a total of 55 boards ordered.
6/27/2008: The first page of this website is published and the gba1000.info domain is purchased.
6/21/2008: (Other time line items will be placed here. I'm not done compiling them.)
6/20/2008: Kristian informs the group that the cost for the boards is 56.46$ US. Payment deadline is June 30th. About 37 people have placed an order.
6/16/2008: Ratte mentions that an add-on graphics card might become available.
6/15/2008: An English translation of the user's guide is underway. (The translated guide is now available in the Parts & Materials section of this website).
6/5/2008: The list of individuals who want to pre-order the board grows to 12 interested hobbyists. Price discussions and the search for a manufacturer continues.
6/1/2008: First time I hear a user mention a fully working GB A1000. "It's a great machine and it's very fast. Great work from Georg." - Evillord68 on Amiga.org.
5/30/2008: Kristian Karlshøj asks the question: "Who would be interested in a blank pcb for Georg Braun's new A1000 system (GB A1000)?". This began a discussion on Amiga.org, from which this building project has sprung.
1/20/2008: Georg Braun, developer of the GB A1000 introduces his new motherboard on a1k.org, the Amiga and Phoenix community.
